On Thursday, there was a nice little update regarding AS Roma’s intentions to make a move for Gianluca Scamacca, currently at West Ham United.
The Italian striker has returned from his holidays and is back with the Hammers training in pre-season, but it’s no secret that if a chance to return to Italy presented itself, he would take it.
He’s admitted as much himself in a recent interview, and Roma Giallorossa on Friday bring the latest in an exclusive of theirs on the situation surrounding the West Ham striker.
They point out that were it not for the Hammers standing in the way with their demands, Tiago Pinto would have already signed Scamacca by now.
The plan from West Ham’s end, now that Declan Rice’s transfer looks set to finally go through, is to ‘try and resume negotiations’ with Roma over the weekend and close a deal ‘if all the stars are aligned’.
Roma Giallorossa state that ‘what is fairly certain is that a meeting will take place’.
That means we could actually seen some real progress on this once West Ham’s focus is firmly on the striker rather than being distracted elsewhere, which could be great news for all parties involved.
