Newcastle United’s Miguel Almirón finished the 2023/24 season with five goals and three assists from 45 games.
The 30-year-old has failed to score a goal in any competition this calendar year, but that hasn’t stopped him from attracting interest from other clubs.
This is according to the Newcastle winger’s agent, Daniel Campos, who revealed his client has been approached by a few Premier League sides.
ABC Cardinal 730 AM had a chat with Campos and he talked about his client’s situation at Newcastle. ABC journalist Angel Elián took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to relay his comments.
“Other Premier League clubs have asked about him, but Newcastle don’t want to sell him. The Arab market is circling around. There may be news, but he is comfortable,” he said.
The representative hasn’t provided the details of the Premier League sides that contacted him for the Paraguay international.
Despite this and the dip in Almirón’s form in this calendar year, the Tyneside club want to retain him.
Taking the agent’s admission into account, it may be possible for the player to leave the Magpies in the summer window. Both Eddie Howe and Newcastle will have to make a decision if Almirón requests a transfer.
