With David De Gea’s departure from Manchester United now confirmed, it’s just a matter of time until they sign their new goalkeeper.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport has a story about that today, claiming that the Spaniard’s farewell was the ‘decisive acceleration’ in the Red Devils’ chase for Inter Milan’s André Onana, as there’s now the ‘green light’ for this operation to take place.
Manchester United and the Nerazzurri are expected to define the last details of this transfer between Tuesday and Wednesday, with the report saying the agreement will take place in ’72 hours’.
There seems to no longer be any drama about the negotiations, with Gazzetta being pretty straightforward when saying the bulk of the deal is pretty much lined up, with Inter Milan making over €50m with the sale, including bonuses.
The Nerazzurri are even said to be looking for other goalkeepers in the market, so they’re pretty much convinced that Onana is on his way out of the club. Anatolij Trubin and Yann Sommer are said to be their top targets.
As for Manchester United, they seem to be preparing to have a new number one at Old Trafford after 12 years.
