While there’s no denying that Manchester United need a new striker for next season, there could also be a need for another versatile forward.
That’s what Pianeta Milan believe at least, as they claim as an exclusive that the Red Devils are interested in signing Rafael Leão.
The forward is currently in a contract stalemate with Milan, which is something Manchester United could take advantage of if no renewal takes place in the coming months.
Already a target for other Premier League clubs, the Portugal international is now on Erik ten Hag’s radar, as the Old Trafford side are ‘ready to rush’ to sign him if they get an opening.
The idea, according to the website, would be to play him alongside Marcus Rashford ‘for a fast and atomic attack’.
There is a €150m release clause in his contract in Milan, and it’s said the Serie A side ‘would not want to deviate too much from that value’.
However, it’s also very clear that with just one year left on his contract in the summer, they would have to accept something lower, ‘but not by much’, or else risk losing him on a free the year after that.
It’s also stated that Milan have to take into account that 20% of a future transfer would go to Lille.
