Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is the priority target for Real Madrid and they will have to battle it out with Liverpool to sign him in the summer.

That’s according to AS, who state the La Liga side have sent an emissary to meet the 19-year-old and his family in Germany. The objective was to learn his plans firsthand and also sell their project to him.

The Champions League winners will have to ‘bid hard with Liverpool’ to win the battle for the midfielder’s signature.

Reports from Germany have said the Reds are favourites. This is relayed by AS, who add Los Blancos have not lost hope to secure the English international’s services despite the interest from Jürgen Klopp’s side.

Sources close to the BVB star insist he hasn’t yet made a decision on his future. This is seen as good news for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, considering reports had placed Bellingham close to the Merseyside club.

It’s claimed both Real Madrid and Liverpool are ‘willing to exceed’ the €100m fee the German club intend to collect for the teenager. The Spanish club’s proposal could be €100m plus €40m bonuses.

AS add that it’s evident Bellingham will leave Dortmund in the summer since he refused to meet the club’s leaders to discuss an improved deal.

Liverpool have an interest in the player and are speeding up the movements to sign him. It remains to be seen whether they can beat Real Madrid for Bellingham’s signature.
