Manchester United are ready to make a move for Sporting Club de Portugal defender Gonçalo Inácio after his impressive performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
That’s according to Correo da Manhã Weekend, who say that display ‘put an end to Manchester United’s doubts’ about the 20-year-old.
Inácio has been a regular for Sporting this season, making 22 appearances in all competitions in the league as well as all of their Champions League games and three in the Europa League.
The latest of his appearances in the latter came in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal this week, a game in which he again stood out despite his side conceding two goals to the Gunners.
That performance was seemingly picked up on by Manchester United, who were so impressed that it put an end to any doubts they had about signing him.
They are now ready to make their move and make him the third player to make the switch after the successful deals for Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes in the past.
Sporting are aware of the interest ‘ask for’ €35m for the 20-year-old centre back, although it is not made clear if Manchester United would be willing to match that as yet.
They’re interested in him, though, and seemingly ready to make a move after being convinced by his performance on Thursday.
