Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho for a transfer fee in the region of €20-30m, but they’re continuing to hit a wall over wages.
Sancho looks set to leave Manchester United in this transfer window with ties between the club and the player having been strained for a long time. The attacker was sent to Chelsea on a season long loan along with a mandatory buying clause which turned out to be not so mandatory.
Chelsea decided not to pay the fee required, resulting in a £5m penalty. Sancho played 42 times for the Blues, scoring five times and assisting 10 times during his spell at Stamford Bridge.
Corriere dello Sport report on Juventus being keen, especially if they can’t reach a deal with FC Porto to get Francisco Conceição back.
However, the Italian giants are concerned about Sancho’s €15m annual salary, on a contract that expires next summer. If Juventus go ahead for Sancho, the salary will be their biggest concern rather than the transfer fee, due to Manchester United’s asking price.
The negotiations between the sides will develop if Porto do not reduce their demands over Conceição. Porto reportedly want €30m for the winger.
Even in that scenario Sancho still carries the ‘significant problem’ of his salary.
