On March 11th, Bild stated Borussia Dortmund are already working to buy Jadon Sancho, after signing him on loan from Manchester United.
Three days later, the same outlet reported the Red Devils would be willing to part ways with the winger for €35-40m in the summer.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state the Manchester United man ‘can really imagine’ staying at BVB for a long time. He adds it’s still too early to suggest a final outcome in this case due to several factors.
Sancho had a fallout with Erik ten Hag last September and was subsequently dropped from the squad.
The manager’s future beyond this season still needs to be clarified, while it’s not yet clear what INEOS, the new Manchester United co-owner, plan to do with the 23-year-old.
The Bundesliga side are keen and willing to pay €35m to buy him, which is reportedly the fee requested by Manchester United. The biggest stumbling block is the player’s salary.
Plettenberg states ‘more talks are scheduled in the next weeks’ for Sancho, who’s happy again at Dortmund.
