Juventus are ready to make their move to re-sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United this summer, and could sacrifice a star name to make it happen.
That’s according to La Nazione, who say Pogba’s friend Paulo Dybala could be the one sold to make way for the Frenchman’s return.
They explain how Pogba’s recent star turn against AC Milan, which helped Manchester United qualify for the next round of the Europa League, has ‘rekindled’ Juve’s love for their former star man.
It’s stated that Pogba has ‘dispensed his talent too sparingly’ in Manchester, and that has made some forget just how good a player he really is.
Fabio Paratici is keen to right the wrongs and understands that efforts to fix the problem with free signings such as Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey have not worked.
Thus, the ‘nostalgia operation begins’ to bring Pogba back, with Manchester United in a precarious position thanks to the midfielder’s contract.
That expires in 2022, and United are aware that letting a Mino Raiola client go into the final year of his deal is a ‘move never to be made’.
Pogba has made it clear he wants to leave, and he would ‘gladly return’ to Juventus because he considers it his home, ‘the place of his heart’ and the place where he has friends.
In terms of the latter, Paulo Dybala stands above the rest, with the Argentine having repeatedly sent Pogba messages over the years asking him to come back.
Fate, though, is cruel, and La Nazione say that for Pogba to return, Juventus would have to make a ‘sacrifice’, and Dybala would likely be it.
Many English teams are ready to pay the €55m to get him, according to them, and with a renewal on his current deal unlikely, he is closer to the exit door than ever.
Two years ago, he rejected Manchester United in a possible exchange for Romelu Lukaku but that could change this summer, with Pogba very much back in Juventus’ sights.
