Alejandro Garnacho impressed for Manchester United against Arsenal in the FA Cup at the weekend.

He assisted Bruno Fernandes’ goal and showed what he is capable of, picking up his eighth assist in the season.

Doubts have emerged about the Argentine’s future at the club in the last few days and Gazzetta dello Sport have shed light on Napoli’s interest.

The Italian newspaper states that Paris Saint-Germain have an agreement to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and the move is expected to go through soon. Because of that, Antonio Conte’s side are hunting for replacements and Garnacho is on the shortlist.

Club sporting director Giovanni Manna has spoken to the Argentina international’s entourage in Barcelona. The meeting took place last night. At the same time, Napoli have also sounded out Manchester United to seek information about the move.

The response from the Red Devils has been ‘chilling’ and they want a fee of €80m to sell the 20-year-old. That is why the Naples club need a big discount to actually sign Garnacho.

The reason Manna spoke to Garnacho’s entourage is to understand the feasibility of the move and explore the possibility of a discount from Manchester United. As of now, the transfer seems quite difficult.
