On January 23rd, Planeta Boca Juniors reported Boca Juniors youngster Aaron Anselmino has aroused interest from Manchester United.
Two days later, El Crack Deportivo journalist Jonathan Riniti stated the Argentine club were expecting an offer from the Red Devils. That didn’t happen in the winter market and Manchester United continue to keep close tabs on the 18-year-old.
TyC Sports state Manchester United and AC Milan have already made enquiries about the centre-back, and both are considering making offers.
Anselmino came up through the ranks of Boca’s academy and was promoted to their first team last year, where he’s made five appearances.
Earlier this year, the defender signed a new deal until 2028 and the report says it has a $20m clause. Anselmino has the backing of both Diego Martínez and the club’s board, and they expect him to enjoy more minutes this year.
Boca Juniors president Juan Román Riquelme has backed him to have a successful career.
“He will compete with the centre-backs. He looks bigger. With the growth, the head he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is going to be a great footballer,” he said.
Manchester United, for their part, are already said to have made contact about Anselmino, and need $20m to take him away from Boca Juniors.
