For the past few days, multiple reports coming out of Italy have stated Manchester United have a firm desire to sign Napoli star Kim Min-jae in the summer.
The centre-back has impressed in his debut season in Italy and played a key role in helping the Serie A side win the title.
Friday’s Corriere dello Sport explains the 26-year-old ‘can leave’ for Manchester United after this season.
The defender’s teammate, Victor Osimhen, has drawn a lot of interest from clubs across Europe. The newspaper makes it clear that Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has no intention to sanction the striker’s sale.
At the same time, the chief is well aware he ‘could not [will not] oppose’ the South Korea international’s sale in the next window.
Manchester United are keen to sign him and are already in advanced negotiations with the player’s entourage, according to the report.
Min-jae has a €50-60m (there’s been various claims on the amount) release clause valid for clubs outside Italy from July 1st to July 15th.
Erik ten Hag’s side have an offer ‘ready’ and are waiting for the player’s clause to come into effect to table the proposal.
