Manchester United fans are probably sick of hearing about Antony’s success at Real Betis so far, but they’re not tired of it in Spain yet.

Estadio Deportivo continue the love in today, explaining how the ‘Antony effect’ has worked for Betis and turned his transfer into one of the best done in Spain in recent years.

They explain that Brazilian has so far managed nine games for Betis since arriving on loan from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

The Verdiblanco team have won six of those, drawn two and lost just one, making them the second-best team in the form table in La Liga.

Despite that one defeat, the feeling is that Betis’ numbers with Antony ‘can’t be better’ and the Brazilian forward has absolutely ‘fallen on his feet’ at the Spanish club.

They’ve picked up 20 points from a possible 27 to date since the Manchester United man entered the team, only Barcelona have managed more with 25 points. In the nine games Antony has played, they have five more points than Atletico, six more than Athletic Club, Villarreal and Real Madrid and seven more than Real Sociedad.

In those games, Antony has managed two goals and two assists but what is ‘really important’ is the ‘real impact’ he’s had on opposition defenders. He’s creating spaces and situations that are being exploited by his teammates.

Thus, it can be said that his arrival from Manchester United has been ‘one of the best’ that has been done in the winter market throughout Spanish football in recent years.
