Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries could end up in the Premier League this month, with Manchester United already in contact about a potential move.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say Inter are ready to do a deal at €40m if anyone is willing to offer it.
Dumfries has been linked with a move to England for several months, with Manchester United and Chelsea both named as serious suitors for the Dutchman.
Reports have continued into this month about a potential transfer, but have always stated that Inter would want at least €60m if they were to sanction what would be another major departure.
It seems that price tag has now dropped, with TMW reporting that he ‘may leave with a €40m offer’ if it arrives.
They explain that the defender ending up in the Premier League is a hypothesis not to be dismissed as Inter are ‘considering the possibility’ of selling the defender if they receive a suitable offer.
Their asking price is now €40m, or at least, that is the base from which they would like to launch a potential auction.
Currently Bayern Munich are not willing to make such a big investment and that’s left two possibilities for the player, Chelsea or Manchester United.
The Blues are yet to make any concrete moves but Manchester United have ‘deepened discussions’ without making an official proposal. In other words, they’ve talked about an offer without making one.
Inter are waiting for that to happen but have made it clear Dumfries can leave if the ‘right offer’ arrives this month.
