Manchester United have made a ‘bombshell’ move for Olympiacos forward Charalampos Kostoulas but face a struggle to prise him from the Greek side.
That’s according to Sport Time, who report that Olympiacos have no intention of selling the 17-year-old in the summer transfer window.
The newspaper reports that Olympiacos are preparing for a busy summer as clubs across Europe eye up a handful of young talent currently breaking through at the club.
Kostoulas is one of them and Manchester United have been following him since December. Their interest was only minor then but has grown in the months since.
They’ve been gathering information and following the youngster in person, with scouts paying particular attention to how he plays without the ball. They want to know about his ‘tactical approach’.
They appear to have been left impressed by what they have seen as Sport Time now report their interest has ‘moved to the next level’.
That includes finding out what Olympiacos’ demand would be for the young striker were they to make a move this summer. They are not the only interested party, though, and Olympiacos do not intend to sell this summer.
They’re yet to put a price tag on Kostoulas but he’s the poker around him has just begun and his name is likely to be popping up more in the coming months.
