Everybody wants Sead Kolasinac. Well, not everybody, but enough football clubs are keen to make the Schalke player one of the most fought over ahead of the summer window.
The 23 year old is talented, he’s shown performances at a high level, and is very versatile positionally and with different formations. But, most of all, he’s free. That not only means no transfer fee, but it also means no negotiating with the player’s current club.
In March Bild reported Kolasinac’s agent had travelled to Manchester City for talks. At the time they talked up a move to the Etihad.
‘…the German newspaper are sure Manchester City will be tempting.
Kolasinac can tick the money box at Manchester City, join a club who expect to fight for titles, see a clear path to the team, work for a top coach in Guardiola, and even reunite with his friend Leroy Sane.
Sane is said to be close to the left back from their time together at Schalke, which can only help Guardiola’s persuasion efforts.’
SportBild magazine don’t go into it so deeply, but they too suggest Manchester City are better placed than other clubs. It’s explained Kolasinac’s agent Gordan Stipic held talks with Txiki Begiristain, and the player’s choice could be between staying where he is or joining City.
Schalke have offered €4.5m a season, the English clubs have offered €6m+, and Everton even up to €10m including bonuses.
