Manchester City continue to look around the world for the best young talents available.
The club, and the City Football Group, have been working with this plan for several years. Given the multiple clubs within the group, the possibility of signing young players and seeing them develop, before potentially shining for Manchester City, presents an advantage.
Bild report Pep Guardiola’s side are keen on Dzenan Pejcinovic.
The 17-year-old, who is described as a ‘super-talent’, had been with Augsburg, but he didn’t sign a renewal and his contract expired at the end of June.
Manchester City ‘want to sign’ him, howeverm they’ll face serious competition from elsewhere, according to the German newspaper. VfL Wolfsburg are said to be keen, and there’s also interest from Juventus.
Bild hype the youngster and say some consider he could be the next top striker in Germany. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Wolfsburg are considered favourites and the Bundesliga side would provide a development route to their first team.
That seems a likelier route to senior football for Pejcinovic, yet it’s still a situation for Manchester City fans to keep an eye on.
