Earlier today, we covered claims from Catalan newspaper Sport which stated Clement Lenglet’s move to Tottenham is imminent. The defender is expected to move to Spurs on a one year loan, and there’ll be a purchase option of more than €10m.

Sport now report that during negotiations for the Frenchman’s transfer, Memphis Depay came into the picture. Barcelona are willing to sell the attacker as long as they receive at least €20m.

The Dutchman is said to be aware of this, and his representatives have been informed they can find a new club this summer. Tottenham ‘have asked’ about signing, and it’s thought the club’s interest goes back several months.

Whilst Memphis Depay’s priority has been to stay at Barcelona, it’s said that in the case of an exit he’d want to sign for a good level Champions League club. Tottenham fit into that bracket, and could therefore be appealing if he’s encouraged towards the Camp Nou exit.

That would require Spurs being willing to pay the €20m, or at least something close to that figure.
