The Spanish media are generally convinced that every footballer on the planet wants to join Real Madrid or Barcelona.
That, of course, includes Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland, who is linked with a move to Los Blancos on a weekly basis.
In a recent interview, the attacker insisted he’s very happy at Manchester City but didn’t rule out a move in the future, and that’s given greater confidence, which wasn’t really needed, to the Spanish media.
Saturday’s edition of AS has Haaland splashed across the front page, and his words – “You never know what the future may bring” – are the basis for their fresh slant.
Those words, according to the Spanish newspaper, were a ‘premeditated’ message about a transfer. That message was ‘directed’ at none other than Real Madrid.
The expected arrival of Kylian Mbappe won’t change things, and it’s explained that Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has made sure a transfer is possible.
That’s related to the exit clause in Haaland’s contract and it’s claimed that even if Manchester City secure a renewal then the new contract would also have an exit clause.
Given that, there’s not a lot Pep Guardiola’s side can do to make these claims go away.
