Manchester City have opened negotiations with Barcelona over Joao Cancelo as they look to find a resolution to his future quickly.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say Manchester City are opening to negotiating with the Catalans and finding a solution to help him remain at the Camp Nou.
The newspaper reports that the right-back wants to continue at Barca next season following his loan move this season and Manchester City are willing to facilitate his departure.
He’s not a part of Pep Guardiola’s plans and they value finding a ‘viable and feasible solution’ that suits all three parties, even though that won’t be easy.
They’ve told Cancelo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, that they are willing to reach an agreement but are pressing to get a deal done as they have received other offers for the player.
They would prefer to get a deal done quickly and get rid of the player and his salary, so are now pushing Barcelona.
Manchester City are already in contact with the Catalans and want a solution, with Txiki Begiristain taking the required steps to solve the issue.
