Manchester City are set to do battle with Paris Saint Germain for Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, with him expected to depart this summer.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that PSG have turned their attention to the 23-year-old after failing to sign Mohamed Salah.

The report that Monaco are banking on the departure of their great prospect this summer but the competition for his signature is ‘strong’. According to the newspaper, Manchester City in particular are interested in him.

PSG’s interest in him is potentially linked to Bradley Barcola, who is holding off on signing a new contract at the club and could depart this summer.

Manchester City could easily afford any move for him but may have to work to convince him to move to England and the Premier League as he is ‘not immune’ to the interest of PSG.

In other words, he’d be very interested in joining the French giants, presumably more so that they are shining in the Champions League and appear to be an excellent place for youngsters like himself to now play their football.

Whether Manchester City do move remains to be seen but Maghnes Akliouche is certainly a name to keep an eye out for this summer.
