Manchester City have been mentioned as a potential destination for Juventus’ Douglas Luiz in the past few days.

The midfielder has struggled to settle into life in Turin, where he has played less than 300 minutes in the Serie A. In the last few weeks, Bianconeri sporting director Cristiano Guintoli has attempted to find a new club for the Brazilian.

It now seems as if Douglas Luiz will stay at Juventus even if Manchester City are interested in him.

TuttoSport today reveal that Pep Guardiola does have a liking for the 26-year-old, who was on Manchester City’s books from 2017 to 2019.

Despite that, there is nothing too concrete from Juve’s end because manager Thiago Motta is keen on giving the midfielder another chance. The manager has seen enough to feel that Douglas Luiz can make an impact and that he is slowly getting to grips with the tactical nuances of a new playing style.

The Italian side now believe that they will keep the ex-Aston Villa player in January and Nicolo Fagioli’s exit will fund their incomings this month.
