Manchester City have ‘emerged with force’ in the developing race for midfielder Dani Olmo, as clubs potentially line up to sign him after Euro 2024.
That’s according to AS, who say ‘Guardiola’s City could be his destiny’ once he is finished impressing for Spain at the tournament in Germany.
The newspaper explains that while Olmo has been shining for Luis de la Fuente’s side and posting impressive numbers to back up the praise, his future remains something to be resolved.
He has a €60m release clause in his current contract and he’s been given freedom to negotiate his future as he wants to move on from RB Leipzig after four years with them.
There has been speculation that he is negotiating with Barcelona, but Manchester City have ‘emerged with force in the last few hours’.
It seems they’re potentially keen too and he is seen as a signing who would provide a leap in quality for the squad. The move would also provide a leap in quality for him too.
The belief is that Manchester City could be ready to move for the Spanish star, with this the latest in a growing number of reports suggesting as much in recent weeks.
For example, it was reported last week that their interest was becoming concrete, after a separate report indicated they had made initial contacts over a move.
Now AS are saying they’ve entered the matter ‘with force’, further strengthening the idea, even if there is currently more smoke than actual fire.
