At 31-years-old, it’s probably a little early for Sergio Agüero to be thinking about retirement just yet.

The Manchester City striker remains at the top of his game and, anyone’s who has watched him in recent years, knows he’s not slowing down under Pep Guardiola.

There will, though, sadly come a time when Agüero will have to decide his future and where he ends up next.

One possible solution is a return to his homeland, with numerous South American footballers having decided to return home for one final stint at their old club before retirement.

It seems that Agüero will not be making that choice when he eventually leaves Manchester City, however. Instead, the Argentine is eyeing up a move to the MLS.

That’s according to TYC journalist Esteban Edul, who made the claim when talking to Estudio Fútbol about the Manchester City striker’s future.

“Kun Agüero will not return to Independiente,” he told the website.

“The day he leaves Manchester City, it’s most likely that he will go to play in the MLS.”

Which club in MLS that will be, Edul doesn’t mention, although it’s easy to imagine that all the big clubs would certainly be interested.

New York City FC are the obvious answer given their ties to Manchester City, but Inter Miami, LA Galaxy and several other big MLS sides would surely all be keen as well.
