In most loan moves, players are evaluated during the season so they can perhaps be signed on a permanent deal at the end of the spell.

This is the case of Tiemoué Bakayoko, who belongs to Chelsea and is spending one year at Napoli, where the local media is always keeping an eye on his form.

Now as a story from Napoli Piu today highlights his situation, they claim that “it doesn’t seem that he will have many chances” under manager Gennaro Gattuso for the rest of the season.

The reason for that is an event which took place in the match against Roma at the weekend. Bakayoko started on the bench, and was brought on in the 86th minute.

Napoli Piu writes that the player took too long to get ready, as he still had to take off a shirt and leave it on the bench when the referee had already authorised the substitution. That caused anger in Gattuso, who ‘screamed’ at the midfielder.

“There is no time, Baka there is no time, you have to move,” he shouted repeatedly.

The report claims that despite a good start to the season, Bakayoko’s form has collapsed, and during the weekend’s game, it seemed like he had his head ‘elsewhere’.

The outlet doesn’t clearly address Napoli’s chances of keeping the player for longer, perhaps because that’s not even under consideration right now.
