Julian Nagelsmann should be keen to join Tottenham this summer, with them “a very good opportunity” for the German coach.
That’s according to former Germany international Rene Adler, who believes the former Bayern Munich manager could create a “spark of optimism” at the club.
Nagelsmann has been out of work since his surprise sacking by Bayern Munich at the end of March after 18 months in charge of the German giants.
Rather than a dent to his image he has been quickly linked with a return to football, with Chelsea and Tottenham believed to have explored the possibility of hiring him over the last month or so.
The Chelsea option is no longer on the table after Nagelsmann ended the possibility of a move to Stamford Bridge, but Tottenham remain keen and a report earlier this month made it clear they were a serious option for him.
If that is the case then Adler believes he should jump at the opportunity, hailing the club for the infrastructure they have in place.
“A very good opportunity,” Spox report him saying to Kicker.
“They’re a top club, top infrastructure with a stadium and training ground, as well as financial opportunities for a rebuild, even without a premier class.
“In the end, you had defensively thinking coaches, sometimes offering destructive football. That could be concealed as long as the results were right, nobody really enjoyed it.
“But if Nagelsmann came along now, someone who plays offensively and wants possession of the ball, that would be the case to spark a spirit of optimism.”
