Brighton & Hove Albion have seen their weekend match postponed and they will be next in action after the international break, when they face Liverpool on October 1st.
This will give the Seagulls sufficient time to appoint a new manager, after Graham Potter left them for Chelsea.
Last week, various reports from Italy stated Roberto De Zerbi is a concrete possibility for Brighton. It was also explained the Premier League side made had contact with his agent and plan to hold further talks.
De Zerbi left Shakhtar Donetsk in July and now seems to be in demand. According to Il Giornale, the 43-year-old has emerged as one of the options for Monza, who have sacked Giovanni Stroppa.
The Serie A side’s leaders are also looking at various solutions, including Claudio Ranieri, Aurelio Andreazzoli and Roberto Donadoni. De Zerbi gets a mention.
As per the report, it is ‘difficult [for Monza] to get’ him because ‘right now, the manager seems to be very close to Brighton’.
Time will tell whether De Zerbi will become Potter’s successor at The Amex.
