Jose Mourinho specifically wants Burnley midfielder Sander Berge at Fenerbahce and is the one pushing the potential move for him.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu who follows up a report from yesterday by adding further details to the mix today.
Sabuncuoğlu reported on Friday that Fenerbahce had opened initial talks with Burnley about Berge to ask about his situation ahead of potentially making a move for him this summer.
He provided little details at the time about the potential transfer, just making it clear that Burnley had been contacted and it was something to keep an eye on.
He now follows that up and reports the interest is because Jose Mourinho wants to add another player to his central midfield options.
‘Studies and negotiations’ are continuing on that front and one of the names that Mourinho wants is Berge. Why that is the case isn’t mentioned, but it seems he’s a fan of the Burnley midfielder and now wants a move for him to be explored.
He’s not the only name on the list and it is made clear Fenerbahce are looking at others too, but Berge is certainly a name to keep an eye on moving forwards.
