According to a claim in the Turkish media Galatasaray are still looking to get a deal over the line for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina following claims the Istanbul giant’s manager Okan Buruk has been convinced it would be a good idea.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a return to the Super Lig leaders after his loan spell with them in 2019.
Galatasaray reporter Ali Naci Küçük has spoken about the latest developments regarding Cimbom’s pursuit for the Wolves players and he says the two clubs are still in talks over the transfer fee.
The Turkish journalist told Haber Sarikirmizi the situation has changed because Buruk now sees a role for Lemina in his squad.
“Galatasaray are negotiating with Wolverhampton for between €2m and €4m for Lemina. Mario Lemina has sent news to Galatasaray many times. However, at that time, Okan was not keen on the transfer of the midfielder. Today, the situation has changed,” said the journalist.
Gala wants to bolster their central midfield options in this window and are keen to bring in competition for Gabriel Sara and Lucas Torreira. Lemina is also reportedly eager to sign for the Istanbul side, with uncertainty over his future with Wolves.
There have been reports this week that the Gabon international has been trying to force a transfer to his former club, pushing to get himself out of Wolves.
The Premier League side have the option to extend his contract for another season, but he’s likely to exit Molineux when his current deal expires in the summer or be sold for a low fee in this window.
Fanatik report a fee of around €3.5m has been reached in negotiations.
