Two days ago, Tuttosport reported there’s a concrete negotiation taking place between Massimiliano Allegri and Manchester United.
The Italian is without a job since leaving Juventus at the end of last season and speaking to Polish newspaper Przegląd Sportowy this week, the coach joked that he’s learning better English.
Tuttosport now claims a ‘sensational scenario’ could open up.
In the same interview with Przegląd Sportowy, Allegri also explained how he rebuilt the Turin club after being appointed as Antonio Conte’s successor in 2014.
The Italian newspaper states the manager could relive a similar situation if he replaces Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
Juventus are still paying their former manager €7.5m-a-year and the overall cost, including his backroom staff, comes to around €16m.
Should there be an agreement between Allegri and the Red Devils, it will come as a welcome boost for the Old Lady as it will help them save money.
In addition to this, Manchester United are also linked with Juventus’ Mario Mandžukić and Emre Can. The two are not included in Maurizio Sarri’s plans and the Serie A winners would give the green light for the Croatian’s sale for around €10m in January.
While negotiating for Mandžukić, if United decide to ask for Can, then it’s stated Juve could cash in another €40m from his transfer.
Between Allegri’s appointment and signing Mandžukić and Can, Manchester United could help Juventus ‘benefit’ to the tune of around €60m.
That’s wishful thinking, surely.
