With Manchester United heavily involved in the fight to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, it seems the Red Devils are working hard not to lose that competition.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport features a new story on the 24-year-old, claiming that with the Italian side’s expected difficulties keeping the player this summer, they already look for other targets to replace him.
Speaking of Osimhen’s potential destinations, they point out negotiations between Napoli and Bayern Munich for a deal which could cost €120m plus bonuses.
But nothing is done yet, and that’s where Manchester United come in, with Tuttosport saying the Red Devils have been trying to ‘enter’ these negotiations and convince the striker to make the move to England instead.
Napoli know how valuable the player is, and should certainly play this game to get the most from his sale this summer.
The striker has 25 goals for the club this season, and as they fight for the Serie A title, it’s hard to imagine the club focusing on his departure before that trophy is confirmed.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are set to invest in a centre-forward as Wout Weghorst doesn’t seem to be on the level the club expect.
