This week, we’ve covered several optimistic reports about the negotiations between Flamengo and Manchester United for the transfer of Andreas Pereira, with many stories claiming the deal was close to being done.

However, in a new update brought by UOL on Wednesday, it’s said there’s been a minor setback which should delay the move for at least a few days.

The outlet claims that with the Red Devils getting knocked out of the FA Cup, and drawing with Burnley in the Premier League, there’s now a bigger crisis at the club, and that ‘decelerated’ the talks for Pereira.

According to UOL, following the defeat to Middlesbrough on penalties, Manchester United’s board turned their attention to ‘more urgent problems’, with no hurry to sort out the midfielder’s situation, and left Flamengo waiting a little.

Still, that doesn’t mean the Premier League giants gave up on the sale. It’s claimed that the talks are in advanced stages, following a bid of €10.5m, where the English club would keep 25% of a future sale. The Rio de Jaaneiro side believe that will be done before the weekend.
