Last year’s Turkish Super Lig top scorer Mario Gomez recently said: “No chance. I’m not coming back to Turkey.”
That followed unrest in the country, and left Besiktas looking to find themselves someone to replace the German’s goals.
Besiktas quickly turned their attentions to some Premier League strikers, most notably Wilfried Bony, and Turkey’s Fotomac have followed things up.
The 27 year old Ivorian striker was left out of his team’s Champions League squad and it is clear his days at Manchester City are numbered. Besiktas wants him to be their leading striker at new stadium the Vodafone Arena.
Bony, is also drawing interest from some PL clubs including Crystal Palace and Everton, but if the Ivorian wants to play in the Champions League, Besiktas can offer him that chance.
After some good performances at Swansea, Bony got his dream move to Manchester City, but things couldn’t quite work well for him.
Usually a back-up for Sergio Aguero, a few injures hampered his progress at the highest level. Bony scored 8 goals in 34 appearances for City last season.
