On Friday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Bayern Munich have taken further steps in their pursuit of Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.
The defender is sidelined with an injury and is expected to return to the pitch soon as the setback is not serious.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says the German champions ‘still want’ the Chelsea player and he’s also keen to make a switch to the Allianz Arena.
He states not everyone at Bayern are ‘100% convinced’ about signing the 24-year-old but the deal is still on track because Thomas Tuchel wants him. The German managed Chalobah when he was at Chelsea and is keen to reunite with him at the Bavarian club.
The journalist adds the centre-back is the ‘main priority’ for Bayern and the ‘negotiations are ongoing’.
In another tweet, Plettenberg reported Tuchel ‘was in contact’ with the player on Monday.
He further adds Bayern are ‘pushing to sign’ Chalobah on a loan deal with an option to buy while Chelsea are looking for a permanent transfer.
