Joshua Zirkzee’s first Manchester United season ended due to injury just when he was starting to hit form under Ruben Amorim.

Over the campaign, the Netherlands international scored seven times across all competitions and added three assists.

Despite the inconsistent form, Zirkzee continues to attract attention from clubs in Italy. There is now the possibility of him leaving Manchester United in the summer.

Corriere dello Sport have reported that Inter Milan see the Dutchman as the ‘ideal piece’ for their jigsaw as they want another forward in the summer.

They believe there’s room for discussion with Manchester United and the Nerazzurri are already considering making an offer for him. Their idea is to propose a ‘loan with option to buy’ and if certain conditions are met, it can become an obligation to buy.

A move like this would be in line with Inter’s Oaktree ownership and their financial outlook. There is optimism that Manchester United would be ready to hold discussions about the transfer.

The striker is Inter’s alternative option, if they fail with a move for Como’s Nico Paz.
