Giovani Lo Celso is a name that we’ve talked about for much of this transfer window, and that’s not likely to change before deadline day.
The Argentine midfielder has been courted by Tottenham since the end of last season, with it well established that Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan.
However, a deal is yet to be done as the two clubs hold firm over the asking price. Betis want €75m and Tottenham’s final offer appears to be €50m. Indeed, yesterday we covered a report that Spurs would ‘squeeze’ the La Liga side to try and get their man for that price.
Diario de Sevilla cover Lo Celso’s future again today and say the player is waiting for Betis to ‘put their cards on the table’ in regards to the move.
The suggestion again is that Betis need to sell, but they’re holding out for the best price possible for one of their star assets.
But with time running out before the end of the Premier League transfer window, there seems a growing concern they miss out if they don’t move on that price.
Spurs seem happy to play the long game and force Betis to drop, but perhaps a little movement on their part could get things tied up before deadline day.
