Having already secured the signing of Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool are now focusing on the next midfielder to buy.
The likeliest, according to Nice-Matin in France, will be Khéphren Thuram, with the local newspaper bringing their latest information to the fore on Wednesday.
They make it clear that Liverpool will ‘step up soon’ for the midfielder, who his currently with the France U21 squad at the Euros in Romania.
The Reds ‘wish to strengthen their midfield’ with the 22-year-old and have given up their pursuit of Jean-Clair Todibo to focus on other, younger defensive targets.
Over at OGC Nice, Thuram is ‘the closest to packing his bags’ this summer, and Liverpool are going to ‘wait for the end’ of the international competition (July 8th) to ‘materialise an offer’ that will be close to what the Ligue 1 side want for their starlet.
Nice-Matin state that would be a minimum of €40m, which is a fee that Liverpool have already paid for the aforementioned Argentine.
Put off by the price tag set by Borussia Dortmund (€100m+) for Jude Bellingham, it seems Jürgen Klopp could be getting two midfielders for less than that by the end of the summer.
