This week, reports from Brazil said Liverpool have showed their intention to pay €30m for Fluminense midfielder André.

Globo Esporte said the offer wasn’t made official, largely because the Rio de Janeiro club made it clear they wouldn’t sell him for that amount.

Now as ESPN Brasil feature a story on this chase, they claim Liverpool should end up giving up on their pursuit.

The outlet first ‘confirms’ that Fluminense turned down the Reds’ €30m bid for the midfielder.

It’s said the Brazilian club made it clear that even if the offer is increased, they will not let the player go before the end of the year.

With this stance, Liverpool are set to go after alternatives, and are not expected to make any new moves for André in the current transfer window.

Fluminense have qualified for the Copa Libertadores’ quarter-finals, and with them having never won that title in their history, they see it as a big chance to so that now. That’s why they don’t even think of losing one of their big stars during the campaign.
