Liverpool ‘have offered’ €150m for Real Madrid star Federico Valverde through intermediaries, and the offer is still on the table.
That’s according to El Debate, who say Liverpool remain happy to pay that figure for the Uruguayan should he decide to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
They explain that Madrid are now looking at their current squad with pride, having made a decision to sign younger players to develop several years ago and been rewarded for that.
Most of those players have developed into world stars and potential sources of huge income should they ever decide to sell or perhaps use them to help fund their move for Kylian Mbappe.
Agents know that deal, plus ones for other players such as Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro, will require cash to come into the club and so they’ve presented several offers for some of Madrid’s stars.
Valverde is one of them, with him described as ‘Liverpool’s dream’ and someone who has been an object of desire for those in charge at Anfield for years.
Klopp wanted him the second he emerged at Madrid and that interest ‘has persisted to this day’ as he has continued to evolve.
The player has always wanted to stay in Madrid but that didn’t stop Liverpool offering €150m through intermediaries. That offer is ‘still on the table’ despite their big spend on midfielders in the summer transfer window.
The midfielder, though, has remained adamant he is not interested and committed to Real Madrid for the time being.
Perhaps that could be swayed if the Spanish giants decide they need to sell to fund business elsewhere, which has seemingly prompted the offers from agents, but until then the Reds need to keep looking elsewhere.
