Liverpool could ‘intervene massively’ on the transfer market this summer and Juventus’ Federico Chiesa is a player who has ‘never completely left’ their radar.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Il Bianconero, who say Liverpool could be in the market for the Italian winger.
They explain that discussions are currently underway about Chiesa’s future at Juventus, with his relationship with Massimiliano Allegri never having been an ideal one.
Juventus also need to keep their wage bill under a certain threshold without disappointing players who aim high, like Chiesa. Thus, the prospect of a new extended deal for Chiesa is a difficult one; a problem as his contract expires in 2025.
That means Juventus need to agree a deal this summer or sell him to avoid losing him on a free transfer the following year.
A move away from Turin could be on the cards then, particularly as nobody is considered unsellable at Juventus these days, and Liverpool are long-term admirers.
The belief is that Chiesa is very much still on their radar and with a post-Jurgen Klopp summer on the horizon, they could be set to spend big and ‘intervene massively’ on the transfer window for whoever replaces the German and give the new manager the tools he needs to succeed.
