Liverpool have become the latest club to have set their sights on Galatasaray star Barış Alper Yılmaz, according to a report from Turkey.
The winger managed seven goals and 12 assists for the Istanbul club last season. He also featured regularly for Turkey, who were knocked out of the Euros by the Netherlands at the weekend.
Milliyet claim the 24-year-old’s performances at the Euros have seen several clubs take notice and Liverpool are now added to this list.
Turkey manager Vincenzo Montella used him as a centre forward against Oranje, where he came up against Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk and Manchester City’s Nathan Aké.
Despite Turkey’s 2-1 defeat, it’s claimed his performance against the Dutch duo has ‘surprised’ the Reds, who have ‘immediately started working’ to try and secure the player’s services.
Galatasaray value Barış Alper Yılmaz, who has a deal until 2027, at €30m. Milliyet say they are keen to sell him for a big figure after impressing against the Netherlands.
The report makes no mention if Arne Slot’s are willing to make an offer of at least €30m or if the attacker is willing to join them this summer.
As well as Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in Barış Alper Yılmaz.
