Earlier today, Germany’s Kicker reported that Florian Wirtz, and his parents, Karin Groß and Hans Wirtz, flew to England on Tuesday for talks with Liverpool.

It had earlier been reported the Bayer Leverkusen player’s trip was to have talks with Manchester City, but the claim has been consistently evolving since it was first made.

Bild have now taken the Kicker comments and added more to the story. According to the German newspaper, the Wirtz camp flew by private jet to Blackpool and stayed there for 65 minutes before going on to Manchester.

The report states that during the stay in Blackpool, the Wirtz delegation spoke to Liverpool officials.

It would appear there’s a battle going on, with Bild also stating Manchester City wrote to Bayer Leverkusen asking for permission to invite Wirtz and his parents, and assuring the Bundesliga club that an agreement over transfer fee would be found.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich remain confident that it’s they who have won the race, although it’s clearly not over given this week’s trip.
