Liverpool have ‘good chances’ of signing Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, with the player keen on a move to the Premier League.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say Liverpool have the centre-back on their list ahead of the summer window as he’s available for €18m.
The newspaper explains that Tah, who has developed into a ‘top’ centre-back and real defensive leader under Xabi Alonso over the last year, has a list of suitors looking at him.
That’s because he is set to enter the final year of his contract at the end of the season and, crucially, an €18m release clause is also set to kick in.
That means he is available on the cheap and factor in that he is ‘more drawn to the Premier League’ than anywhere else in Europe and there is a deal to be done.
Liverpool have already shown ‘great interest’ in him and have good chances of winning the race too as Tah has made Champions League football a requirement if he is to depart and not extend his deal with Leverkusen.
Liverpool should be able to offer that given their position in the Premier League at this moment in time, unlike transfer rivals Tottenham, who are battling for a place in the top four.
