There’s a claim in the Turkish press that Besiktas have stepped up their pursuit to sign Kasımpaşa defender Yasin Özcana as they look to get ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign him.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, but they haven’t yet made a concrete move for him.
Ajanspor today report on Besiktas’ approach for Özcan, and they say the Super Lig side have made an offer. It’s claimed they have also offered players as part of the deal and are now waiting on a response from Kasımpaşa.
The Turkish media outlet also mentions on Liverpool interest after claims in June that they too were in transfer talks to sign Özcan and that they’ve been following him for a while.
However, the English side will now have to react to Besiktas’ intentions to get a deal done for the central defender.
Despite his age, Ozcan established himself in the Kasimpasa starting eleven last season, making 33 appearances in the Super Lig.
His performances at either left back or centre back helped his club achieve an impressive 5th place finish in the league, finishing above the likes of Besiktas.
Ozcan is contracted to Kasimpasa until June 2026 after signing a contract with the Turkish club in 2023.
