Liverpool are ‘drooling’ over LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro as they look to bolster their defence for the future.
That’s according to Le 10 Sport, who say that despite opening talks with defender Ibrahima Konaté over a new deal at Anfield, Liverpool still plan to add to their defensive options.
Joël Matip and Virgil Van Dijk are now 32-years-old and the Reds know they are ‘not eternal’ so want to prepare for the future without the pair.
They have ‘several profiles in mind’ to look at on the market and they are particularly keen on young players who can be developed for the future.
They’re scouting around the world and in Ligue 1 they’ve identified Lille youngster Leny Yoro as a potential target.
Le 10 Sport report that they are ‘drooling’ over the defender, who is already being eyed by both Manchester City and Manchester United.
Now Liverpool are looking out for him and are ‘determined to play a role’ in the Frenchman’s future as the race for his signature heats up.
Whether that means they are ready to make a move remains to be seen but the interest is genuine and he’s a name to keep a close eye on moving forwards.
