Facundo Medina has reached an agreement to leave RC Lens in the summer transfer window and Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Aston Villa are ready to welcome him to the Premier League.

That’s according to Allez Lens, who cover the situation today and how Medina’s departure from Lens has been ‘in the pipeline’ for several weeks.

They report that agreement has been reached between the Argentine defender and the president Joseph Oughourlian for him to leave this summer, despite his current contract running until June 2028.

The French club have praised the player’s ‘exemplary behaviour’ after he agreed to stay in the January transfer window despite several offers being on the table.

They’ll now let him leave in the summer and there are a host of clubs interested in him, including Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle.

The assumption has been that he would be available for €15m but Allez Lens dispute this and say that Oughourlian wants at least double, €30m, before he will sanction any exit. He and Lens believe that is a more than fair asking price.

Whether Crystal Palace, Aston Villa or Newcastle are willing to pay that for the 25-year-old remains to be seen but with an agreement in place for him to depart, that’s one major obstacle out of the way.
