For the past few weeks, various reports coming out of the Italian media have stated that Leicester City’s Çağlar Söyüncü is a target for Inter Milan.
This is now backed up by the latest report from Calciomercato.it, where they state the Foxes defender ‘remains on the radar’ of the Serie A side.
The Turkey international has been left out of Brendan Rodgers’ plans as he is yet to make an appearance in the league for Leicester this season. His only outing from the current campaign came during the Foxes’ EFL Cup win over Stockport County.
Söyüncü’s current deal runs down in 2023. Due to his contract situation at the King Power Stadium, it’s claimed the centre-back ‘represents a great opportunity’ for the Nerazzurri, to potentially replace Milan Škriniar.
The Slovak’s contract expires at the end of the season. Faced with the possibility of losing him as a free agent, Simone Inzaghi’s side are looking for options in the market.
Among the targets is the Leicester player and the time left on his contract attracts Inter. Söyüncü will end up being only an idea for the Italian club if Škriniar decides to sign a new contract at the San Siro.
