Leicester City have made a bid for Brøndby goalkeeper Mads Hermansen as they look for a new number one for next season.
That’s according to BT in Denmark, who say the goalkeeper has been left out of a recent friendly because his club was ‘in negotiations’ with another club.
BT have since learned that club is Leicester, who have ‘placed the bid’ for the player as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
They have Danny Ward, fellow Dane Daniel Iversen and Alex Smithies at their disposal already but the goalkeeper spot was a problem for them last season and it seems new manager Enzo Maresca has decided he needs another player in the position.
That figure would make Hermansen the joint second highest departure ever secured by Brøndby alongside Jesper Lindström. Daniel Agger’s move to Liverpool in 2005 for €8.76m is currently the highest.
The relevant parties are ‘still in dialogue’ about the transfer and at this moment in time there has been no clarification whether the Danish goalkeeper will be sold this summer.
But Leicester are ‘working hard’ to make a deal happen and have already made a sizeable bid for the player, a clear demonstration of their interest in him.
