Leicester City should push to sign OH Leuven youngster Ezechiel Banzuzi as he’s the perfect fit for the Premier League.
That’s according to Steven Defour, via Voetbal Krant, who believes the 19-year-old could be an ideal signing for Leicester late in the window.
The midfielder has been earning admirers across Europe with his performances for the Belgian side this season, with several believed to be showing an interest.
Last week saw reports in England that West Ham were closing in on a deal while AS Monaco have also tried in the past but failed to reach an agreement with Leuven for him. Nice have also been named as candidates in the race.
So too have Leicester, where Ruud van Nistelrooy is believed to be keen on adding new faces to his squad before the transfer window ends as he looks to steer the Foxes away from relegation trouble.
The Dutchman is yet to be given the signings he wants, though, with Woyo Coulibaly the only arrival to date in a €3m move from Parma.
Defour believes that needs to change and Banzuzi should be next through the door, as he’s got a profile that’s perfectly suited to the Premier League.
“That’s the question I ask myself,” Steven Defour said in Extra Time when asked about the Foxes.
“If I were Leicester, I would say get him. He has the ideal profile for the Premier League. He recovers a lot of balls, covers a lot of ground and has very good feet.
“The only reason why I wouldn’t do it is perhaps to keep Leuven in the first division. It’s all in your opinion.”
