Leicester City and PSV look set to miss out on Stoke City youngster Thibaud Verlinden, according to claims in Belgium. The young attacker only signed for Stoke City last summer from Standard Liege’s youth academy.

HLN have reported this morning that Leicester City and PSV were looking to move in on the 17-year-old before the transfer deadline. Both clubs are hoping to add to their squad before the end of the month, and Verlinden was seen as an option, but surely he’d start off in the youth ranks.

However, PSV have been put off by Stoke City’s €7m valuation of the young Belgian, whilst Leicester City have also dropped out for unknown reasons. The attacker has yet to make his competitive debut for Stoke City, but could be in-line to for a debut in the near future.

Stoke City signed Verlinden last summer despite the attention of Liverpool. The Merseyside club wanted to give the youngster a trial, but this was refused by his club.

Stoke City had to wait until Verlinden turned 16 years old last July before they could move in on him.
